About Us

Science in Donation and Transplant is a non-profit devoted to supporting, educating, and advocating on behalf of the interests of members of the donation and transplant communities.  We work to ensure the metrics and measures used to credential, license, designate and certify donation and transplant organizations be evidence-based and based upon sound statistical and demographic projections. And free of political, economic, monetary, or other private influence.

For too long, the science in the transplant process has been overshadowed by unverifiable performance measures, unworkable bureaucratic rules, and misguided special interests.

We believe in complete transparency of the procurement to transplant process using verifiable metrics. We believe reforms are needed. Reform must come based on science without disrupting the life-saving system currently in place.

We believe scientific innovation in the procurement and transplant process can lead us to better outcomes that save the lives of tens of thousands of Americans each year.

Others see only problems in our current structures and look to break up our life-saving system. We are a forward-thinking, innovative, and scientifically based group working to improve the donation and transplant process.
